Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ) (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)

Summary

2010-04-19: CME 502, Piper PA31 350, enroute from Saint John (CYSJ) to Halifax (CYHZ), landed on Runway 05 and blew a tire on touch down. The aircraft pulled into Taxi "C" and was towed to the apron at 00:10Z. The runway and taxiway were inspected and returned to service. There was no impact on operations. Nil TSB.
2010-04-21: UPDATE Maintenance & Manufacturing: The aircraft experienced a hard landing which caused the right hand tire to blow and the left hand gear housing to crack and lose the nitrogen and hydraulic fluid. The airplane is undergoing a series of inspections as outlined in the aircraft maintenance manual. The main gear assembly and wheel assembly were replaced.
