Summary
2010-03-22: A volcanic eruption occurred in Iceland at an approximate position of 6240N020W. A 120 nautical mile radius of this point was affected. Winds were moving the area north, affecting all traffic routing north of 62 degrees north latitude in the Reykjavik Oceanic Airspace. All airports in Iceland were reported closed. Gander, Reykjavik and Shanwick Oceanic Service Providers were coordinating to tacitly reroute aircraft away from the affected areas.
