Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ)

Summary

2010-03-15: C-FJWX, Diamond DA 20 C1, inbound for a stop-and-go maneuver in Moncton (CYQM), reported fumes in the cockpit and feeling groggy with sore muscles. The flight requested clearance direct to the airport for landing. The aircraft landed safely at 04:09. Emergency Response Services were standing by. ACA 676 was delayed about five minutes by completing a 360-degree turn to accommodate C-FJWX. Nil TSB.
2010-03-17: UPDATE Update Maintenance & Manufacturing: The aircraft was snagged and maintenance was sent to Halifax for repairs. The monoxide detector was replaced along with a new muffler and a serviceable exhaust manifold previously removed from C-FUYW. All of the scat hoses were inspected and visual inspection on the engine area was carried out and no fault found. When the crew arrived back to Moncton they then proceeded to inspect the removed assembly. A pressure check was carried out with no fault found and the entire manifold had no defect found. The aircraft was returned to service with no related issues reported since that time.
2010-03-16: UPDATE TSB: Maintenance replaced the muffler on the aircraft.
