Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Summary

2010-02-08: C-FNZQ, Diamond DA 20 C1 cleared the zone at Fredericton (CYFC), and reported returning due to a high oil temperature indication. Aircraft declared an emergency. The Aircraft Rescue & Fire-Fighting (ARFF) went to standby position. The aircraft landed safely at 20:10Z. Nil TSB.
2010-02-16: UPDATE Maintenance & Manufacturing: This was the 3rd occurrence with this aircraft and two were confirmed by the flight crew to be caused by an extended ground run with the winter plates installed. During the last maintenance entry the oil pressure plunger and seat were inspected for damage, the oil cooler and fins were inspected for obstruction and the aircraft was ground run with an external oil pressure gauge and no defect was found. The aircraft was released conditional to a satisfactory test flight.
