Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Summary

2010-02-03: At 19:02Z, a strong ELT signal was heard, lasting for 20 minutes. The Fire Hall was contacted but they were unable to locate the source. The Shift Manager was advised. The Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC) was called and indicated that the 406 ELT was showing the signal coming from a Canadian registered American Aviation AA5. The aircraft was located at a Fixed Base Operator (FBO) hangar and the ELT was turned off. It had been accidentally turned on during maintenance. Nil TSB.
