Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Summary
2010-01-25: C-FZKH, Piper PA44 180, advised that it had experienced a directional gyro failure and was returning to the airport. The aircraft landed safely at 21:02Z. Nil TSB.
2010-01-27: UPDATE Maintenance & Manufacturing: Maintenance inspected the aircraft and found the FREE/SLAVE selector was set to free mode without the pilot?s knowledge. Slave mode was selected and taxi tests carried out. The heading indicator was found to be operating normally.
