Incident at J.A. DOUGLAS MCCURDY SYDNEY AIRPORT

Summary

2010-01-08: JZA813, DHC 8 102, enroute from Sydney (CYQY) to Halifax (CYHZ), reported that a green laser was flashed into the cockpit at about 4,000 feet just as the aircraft was entering cloud. There was no reported impact on the operation. Sydney police were advised. TSB Case Closed.
2010-01-28: UPDATE TSB: A10A0004: JZA813, an Air Canada Jazz De Havilland DHC-8, had departed Sydney en route to Halifax when the flight crew advised that a green laser had been directed at the flight deck. The incident occurred when the aircraft was approximately 4000 feet ASL just prior to the aircraft entering cloud. There were no reported impact on aircraft operations and the aircraft continued to destination without further incident. Local police personnel in Sydney were notified of the incident.
