Incident at DAWSON CREEK BC (CYDQ) (Overshoot/missed approach, Conflict - potential, Communication error)
Summary
2009-06-11: The Cassandre Holdings Inc. Cessna C177 (C-FWTO), VFR Dawson Creek (CYDQ) to CYDQ, reported starting a quick backtrack and departure on Runway 24 prior to Kenn Borek Air Ltd. Flight KBA102, a Beech BE20 IFR Edmonton to CYDQ, arriving Runway 24. C-FWTO reported 'making a mistake' and backtracked Runway 06 instead. When questioned for his intentions, C-FWTO reported he would now be departing Runway 06 with a left turn. KBA102 was called to pass this information and he reported in the overshoot at 1601Z due to C-FWTO on the runway. C-FWTO exited the runway and KBA102 landed at 1607Z.
