Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ)

Summary

2009-07-06: UPDATE TSB: A09A0044: SPR822, a Provincial Airlines Beech BE20, had taken off from Halifax en route to Moncton on a medivac flight when the flight crew declared an emergency due to smoke in the cockpit; abnormally hot air issued from the heating and windshield defrost ducts. The aircraft was cleared back to Halifax and landed safely with ARFF standing by after which the aircraft taxied to the operator's hanger. Maintenance inspection revealed that both the left and right plastic bleed leak detection lines had failed.
2009-06-24: SPR822, Beech 200, enroute from Halifax (CYHZ) to Moncton (CYQM), departed Runway 05 and reported smoke in the cockpit shortly after departure. Emergency Response Services (ERS) were on standby. The aircraft landed at 21:14Z on Runway 23 and taxied to the hanger. The smoke had dissipated. TSB Case Closed
