Incident at TESLIN YT (CYZW)


2005-06-07: UPDATE TSB reported that the Cessna 170B, N3466D, was on a VFR flight from Teslin, YT to Dease Lake, BC. Fifteen minutes after takeoff, the pilot detected a loss of engine power (Continental 0-300 SER). The pilot conducted a precautionary approach onto the Alaska highway. A post-landing inspection indicated that the intake valve from the number 2 cylinder had broken off and lodged in the carburettor.
2005-06-06: N3466D, a Cessna 170, was 7 NM east of Teslin when the pilot performed an emergency landing on the Alaska Highway due to engine trouble. It was reported that on a post- landing inspection, a valve separation was discovered. RCMP personnel were on site.
