Incident at GILLAM MB (CYGX)

Summary

2005-05-30: C-FMPO, a Pilatus PC-12, was flight-planned from Shamattawa (ZTM) direct Thompson, proposed at 2100Z, requesting FL 200. The aircraft departed ZTM at 2100Z and made contact with the Winnipeg North Low Sector Controller at 2114Z climbing through 17,500 feet requesting FL 200. At that time C-FMPO was approximately 50 NM SSE of Gillam and inside controlled airspace. The direct track from ZTM to YTH should normally pass about 70 miles south of Gillam and outside of the 60 mile arc of controlled airspace. C-FMPO was subsequently cleared as requested. No other aircraft were affected.
