Incident at IQALUIT NU (CYFB) (Aerodrome - other)

Summary

2005-05-25: FAB 824 was taxiing for departure at Iqaluit when the crew reported a stray dog airside, inside the perimeter fence. The driver of an airport vehicle was advised and he reported that the dog left the premises a short time later.
2005-06-03: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that the dog was caught on the apron before it reached the runway. Heavy snow accumulations have allowed stray dogs easier access to the runway The snow is high enough that mammals are able to walkover the tops of the security fencing or they are able to crawl underneath. A city by law officer is now in place and has been advised of the on going problem with dogs on the run.
