Incident at FORT MCMURRAY AB (CYMM)

Summary

2005-05-19: After departure from Fort McMurray, the crew of SYN 21, a Cessna Citation, reported flying through a flock of birds and may have struck some of them (size or type not reported). Airport maintenance could not locate any remains.
2005-05-20: Aerodrome Safety advised that the crew of SYN21 a Cessna Citation reported flying through a flock of birds which they may or may not have struk. There were no reports of aircraft damage as the crew elected to continue on with their flight to Calgary. Airport maintenance personnel were unable to locate the remains of any birds. There have been reports of numerous Franklin Gulls on the airport property. The airport authority have placed Owl decoys out as a preventative measure in keeping the gulls away from the runways and taxiways. This event did not cause any interruption of air traffic at Fort McMurray.
