Incident at WINNIPEG / ST. ANDREWS MB (CYAV)

Summary

2005-05-18: A Cessna 180 or Cessna 185 was observed on final to Runway 13 at St. Andrews airport. Radio contact had not been established with the aircraft so the pilot was given a green light to land. The aircraft landed and then taxied to the apron. Traffic was a Cessna 208 two miles on final on Runway 13. Tower was unable to read the aircraft identification.
2005-05-20: UPDATE Nav Canada reported that it was a Cessna 185 that was observed on final to Runway 13. The Tower Manager was able to confirm after the fact that the aircraft's identification was C-GFZX, and the reason for the lack of radio communication was an alternator failure.
