Incident at YELLOWKNIFE NT (CYZF)

Summary

2005-04-27: C-FNAM, a BAe 31, was departing Yellowknife on a SID clearance to 4,000 feet. The aircraft inadvertently climbed to 4,500 feet before the crew noticed the error. The aircraft altitude alerter was unserviceable. No traffic, no ops impact.
2005-04-28: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that company maintenance has reported that aircraft C-FNAM that operated as PLR 508 on 2005-04-26 was not equipped with an altitude alert system. Company operations has reported that the Captain of this flight did not normally fly this particular aircraft on a regular basis. As the other Jetstream 31's within the company fleet do operate with an altitude alert system, this misunderstanding lead to the report that the system was unserviceable.
