Incident at YELLOWKNIFE NT (CYZF)

Summary

2005-05-05: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing (Ontario) reported that the # 2 AC generator went off line. The AC feeder cable in the powerplant electrical harness had shorted to the 'D' flange of the engine. Abnormal occurrence inspections for this event have been initiated on the engine. A fleet campaign has been initiated to check wiring harness condition and routing. An SDR has been submitted.
2005-04-22: FAB 6070, an ATR-42, departed Yellowknife at 1713Z and 10 minutes after takeoff, the crew indicated they needed to return to Yellowknife due to mechanical reasons; no assistance was required. The aircraft landed on Runway 09 at 1736Z. Two other aircraft, MPE 9413 and C-FASC were delayed for about 4 minutes.
