Incident at WINNIPEG / JAMES ARMSTRONG RICHARDSON INTL MB (CYWG)

Summary

2005-03-24: TGO 982, a Beech King Air C90, departed Winnipeg International Airport at 1510Z and was en route for La Ronge airport. When the flight was 10 NM north of Winnipeg, the crew declared an emergency, shut down one engine and requested to return to Winnipeg. The aircraft landed safely at 1523Z. TSB has been notified.
2005-03-29: UPDATE TSB reported that Transport Canada TGO 982, a Beech King Air C90A aircraft, registration C-FGXZ, departed Winnipeg on a GPS training flight to La Ronge, SK. About 10 NM north of Winnipeg, the crew noted a low oil pressure indication for the left engine (P & W PT6A-21). The crew shut the engine down, declared an emergency, and diverted the flight back to Winnipeg where it landed without further incident. Maintenance found an oil leak in the torque indication system.
