Incident at WINNIPEG / JAMES ARMSTRONG RICHARDSON INTL MB (CYWG) (Aerodrome - other)
2005-03-21: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that it was reported that the individual scaled a barbwire topped 3.9 meter (10 foot) security fence at the Air Canada Cargo building and then proceeded along Taxiway Charlie before being picked up by the airport Duty Manager on apron 2. The pedestrian was then turned over to members of the City Police, apparently the person who was going to visit a friend saw nothing unusual about taking a short cut across the airport. West Jet 1319 was delayed for two minutes because of this event.
2005-03-18: WJA 1319, a B737-700, was taxing for departure on Runway 36 at Winnipeg when the crew advised Ground Control of a pedestrian walking along Taxiway Charlie. The airport Duty Manager was alerted and picked up the pedestrian on Apron 2. One VFR aircraft inbound was re-routed to Runway 36 instead of Runway 13 and WJA 1319 was held for 2 minutes.
