Incident at WINNIPEG / JAMES ARMSTRONG RICHARDSON INTL MB (CYWG)
2005-03-18: UPDATE Winnipeg ACC reported that after a review of their tapes, it was confirmed that the pilot had requested that the Terminal Controller close his flight plan. The Controller subsequently forgot to do this, which resulted in the ground search for the aircraft.
2005-03-17: At 0547Z, Winnipeg ACC reported to CFB Trenton Rescue Co-ordination Centre that C-GPJJ, a Piper Cherokee was overdue on a VFR flight. A ground search ensued and 30 minutes later, the RCMP reported that C-GPJJ was located parked at Winnipeg International Airport.
