Incident at SASKATOON / JOHN G. DIEFENBAKER INTL SK (CYXE)
2005-04-08: UPDATE TSB reported that the Beech 200 King Air, C-FWWQ operated by West Wind Aviation as flight WEW 1T, was on a local training flight at the Saskatoon Airport, SK. The flight was 1.5 mile final for Runway 15 at 400 feet AGL when the Captain observed a radio controlled aircraft about 1/4 mile ahead at the same altitude. The crew did a missed approach, and observed a R/C aircraft pass under the right wing about 100 feet below. Tower was advised and airport maintenance staff investigated but did not find the R/C aircraft or its operator.
2005-02-28: WEW 1 Trainer, a Beech King Air, was at 400 feet AGL on a 1 mile final to Runway 15 at Saskatoon when the crew reported that a radio controlled a/c passed 'very close' to them. Company maintence people investigated but did not observe any activity.
