Incident at LA RONGE (BARBER FIELD) SK (CYVC)

Summary

2005-02-23: The crew of C-FSCA, a ski equipped DHC-6 Twin Otter, intentionally landed on the snow on the east side of Runway 18 at La Ronge at 0216Z, when evening twilight was 0101Z. The area where the a/c landed is not published as a ski strip. The aircraft landed safely and there was no impact on airport operations. There were Runway 18/36 edge lights on one side of where the a/c landed and no lights on the other side (CAR 602.40).
