Incident at FORT MCMURRAY AB (CYMM)

Summary

2005-02-17: After the pilot started the engine of C-GUJV, a DHC-2 Beaver, at Fort McMurray, FSS observed two occupants exiting the aircraft and it was not known if anyone was on board. The occupants re-entered the aircraft and started takeoff at 1720Z, which was aborted. Although a second takeoff attempt was successful at 1734Z, it appeared that the left float contacted the ground and sparks were seen by FSS.
