Summary

2005-02-11: The crew of N601LF, an A320, who were on a round robin test flight via Winnipeg direct The Pas direct Norway House J542 Winnipeg at 16,000 feet, requested FL 350 when approximately 140 miles northwest of Winnipeg. The Controller advised they showed the aircraft was not certified for RVSM and the highest altitude they could aprove was FL 280. The flight crew's readback was unreadable. The aircraft was given contact instructions for the next sector. At 1952Z the aircraft was observed on radar climbing from 16,000 feet. The aircraft was contacted and cleared to FL 280. No other aircraft were involved.
