Incident at CALGARY INTL AB (CYYC)
2005-02-21: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that the operator advised that the crew had a 'baggage door open' indication and the emergency procedure is to shut that side engine down as a safety precaution as the engine is aft of the baggage door. The problem was traced to an indication problem, which was rectified and the aircraft returned to service.
2005-02-10: C-GWRK, a Piaggio Avanti, departed Calgary and when the flight was 35 miles northwest of YYC, the crew declared an emergency with the port engine shut down. Emergency Services were put on standby and the aircraft landed safely at 1822Z. Five aircraft were delayed up to 10 minutes until the emergency aircraft landed.
