Incident at CLYDE RIVER NU (CYCY)

Summary

2005-02-02: KLM 681, a B767-300, was en route from Amsterdam to Vancouver and east of Clyde River when the crew reported a generator failure. They indicated that they were running the APU for an alternate power source. Running the APU increased fuel consumption and the company dispatcher requested a direct route if possible. The filed route through Edmonton Centre was direct, and as such, the crew did not request a routing change. An emergency was not declared and the aircraft landed at CYVR without incident.
