Incident at GRANDE PRAIRIE AB (CYQU) (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)

Summary

2005-01-28: C-GYYP, a Piper Navajo, was landing on the 6,500-foot Runway 29 at Grande Prairie and landed long then ran off the end of the runway into some snow. The aircraft had to be towed out of the snow by an airport service vehicle and once that was accomplished, the pilot re-started the aircraft and taxied to the ramp on his own power. Numerous aircraft were held during this occurrence and the runway was not usable for approximately 30 minutes. No report on damage to the aircraft.
