Summary

2005-01-28: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that the snow machine operator is a member of the RCMPolice. Since the snow drifts around the Fenced area at the airport at are 15 feet high and the fence there is 10 feet in height the dog simply walked or ran up the snow drifts onto the apron. At no time was the snow machine on the runway.
2005-01-27: UPDATE The NWT government reported that they contacted the Hamlet of Repulse Bay concerning this report. The Mayor was asked and agreed to make a local radio station broadcast outlining the need to remain away from airport operations. This is a safety issue common to isolated communities. Accepted counters are to do the public radio broadcasts, to offer airport related training while doing community visits and to do public awareness through the schools.
2005-01-26: An aircraft was on final approach at Repulse Bay when a snow machine was observed on the edge of the runway. The aircraft landed at 2020Z without incident. The identity of the driver of the snow machine is unknown.
