Incident at ISLAND LAKE MB (CYIV)

Summary

2005-01-18: The pilot of SGK 933, a Cessna 441, made an initial call inbound to Island Lake and received an airport advisory from FSS, but no further calls were received by FSS after that initial call. After initiating calls to the aircraft and the company, FSS received a call from Winnipeg FIC advising that SGK 933 was down. A check was done on the Island Lake MF 122.2 in conjunction with SGK 933. Thunder Bay FSS was then able to hear SGK 933 and was advised that the flight was having radio problems while inbound and that the radio was now serviceable.
