Incident at E of Clyde River at ADSAM 70N 63W (ATS operating irregularity)

2005-01-17: At 2130Z, Reykjavik ACC passed an estimate on WOA 971, an MD-11 en route from Dublin to Los Angeles for ADSAM at FL 320. At 2150Z, Reykjavik ACC requested FL 360 for the aircraft and the Edmonton ACC Controller approved the altitude change. At 2252Z, Arctic Radio passed a progress on the aircraft at ADSAM at FL 340. There was no conflicting traffic at FL 340 as determined by the Edmonton Controller. Reykjavik ACC was contacted and they determined that the 2150Z requested altitude revision should have been a request for FL 340 instead of FL 360. Reykjavik reported that they would be conducting an internal investigation.
