Incident at EDMONTON INTL AB (CYEG)
2005-02-21: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that the pilot advised that he was returning due to 'technical difficulties'. This return was for a duct overheat situation. The ACM bleed air by-pass valve for the environmental system failed in the open position causing loss of control of cabin temperature. The high temperatures generated some smoke into the cabin. The valve was replaced and the ducting checked for debris that might cause smoke but none was found. The system was tested and the aircraft returned to service. An SDR will be submitted.
