2005-01-13: At 1743Z, the crew of the Beech King Air 200, AKK 201, was given a clearance to depart from Runway 23 at Inuvik reference inbound C-GWUY
, another King Air, conducting the arc approach for that same runway. The departure clearance had a cancellation time of 1749Z based on the arrival's time of 1753Z. The crew did not get their aircraft off until 1749 and 45 seconds, which is contrary to his clearance. The Controller checked the position of the arriving aircraft when he got the actual departure time for AKK 201 and the arrival was still at least 5 minutes back on the arc (the standard is 3 minutes) so there was no loss of separation. The crew was asked to call the Edmonton ACC supervisor later to explain. The Captain called at 1910Z and he thought he had made his restriction according to his watch, but a further check showed he was off by at least one minute with the actual time.
