Incident at EDMONTON INTL AB (CYEG)

Summary

2005-01-13: LTT 234, a Cessna Citation 560XL, departed City Centre Airport for an IFR flight to Vancouver and when the a/c was over Drayton Valley, the crew advised of a vibration concern and diverted the flight to Edmonton International Airport. LTT 234 landed without incident and ERS was not requested. The nature of the problem is not known.
2005-01-14: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that a hydraulic line from the LH engine driven hydraulic pump where it connects to the LH pressure filter, was cracked. There had been a considerable amount of fluid leakage (there was approximately 1/4 of the sight gauge on the reservoir showing). They removed the line and ordered a new one. Cessna was contacted and the line will be returned to Cessna engineering. A new line was installed the system was serviced and ground functions were completed. The operator believes that the vibration that was felt was as a result of low pressure to the stab position actuator with the possibility of air entering the system. An SDR has been completed and will be forwarded to Transport.
