Summary

2005-01-10: NWA 846, a B757 en route Anchorage to Minneapolis, was 80 NM northwest of Winnipeg when the crew advised they lost one generator system and requested a descent to FL 180. They advised they would attempt to start the APU and if able, continue on to destination. When approximately 20 NM south of Winnipeg, the crew advised they were unable to start the APU and elected to divert to Winnipeg for maintenance. No other aircraft were inconvenienced, no assistance was required.
