Incident at HIGH LEVEL AB (CYOJ)
2005-02-18: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that company maintenance was notified and an engineer was dispatched to repair the aircraft. A new bulb PN GE327 was installed, system checked and aircraft was returned to service. The occurrence report stated this was the second similar incident with this aircraft in 2 weeks. The first incident was as follows; upon approach to Edmonton several attempts to extend the landing were required get RH green down and locked light. Maintenance was dispatched, the aircraft was placed on jacks and the gear was tested, the defect could not be duplicated, all gear switches were cleaned and gear was re-tested with no fault found. The aircraft was retuned to service. Of note was the amount of snow on the runway upon departure from High Level and the operator suspects the RH gear switch was temporarily rendered unserviceable due to the harsh environmental conditions in which this Medevac flight operated.
2005-01-04: LRA 912, a Beech King Air 200, was inbound to High Level from Fort Vermilion and while on final, the crew advised FSS that they were going to do a left hand circuit due to landing gear problems. After they flew the circuit, they elected to land, not being positive the landing gear was down, although from the ground it appeared to be extended normally. CFR was not requested. This is the second similar incident with this aircraft in the last 2 weeks (CADORS 2004C2598).
