Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Summary

2005-12-20: Canadian Armed Forces (CFC3201), Airbus A310 enroute from Quebec (CYQB) to Fredericton (CYFC) was cleared to hold east of the CYFC VOR I/B 093R turn to the right at 6,000 ft., which ensured separation from CFB Gagetown (CYR724). The pilot read back the clearance correctly, but proceeded southeast of the VOR and then turned southwest bound in to CYR724. The Moncton radar controller took immediate action to have the aircraft clear CYR724. Gagetown range officer was instructed by the Moncton data controller to check fire. Gagetown subsequently advised that no firing activity was taking place at the time CFC3201 entered the area. Nil TSB
