Accident at 2.5 nm from Marystown NL in the area of Goby Point

Summary

2005-12-16: UPDATE TSB: A05A0155: A Canadian Coast Guard MBB BO 105 helicopter (registration C-GGGC) operating as CTG352, was en route from Go By Point to Marystown, NL with a pilot and passenger on board. At 1900 NST, the aircraft was reported overdue and a search was initiated. At 2100 NST, the bodies of both occupants were recovered in the sea a short distance from Go By Point. The aircraft has not been found.
2005-12-08: CTG352, BO105, VFR operating from Winterland was reported overdue to RCC by Halifax FIC at 2129Z. Com search started at 2130Z by Halifax FIC and RCC. RCC reported to Halifax FIC at approx 0202Z that one soul had been recovered from the ocean. At approximately 0305Z RCC advised that the second soul had been recovered. No further information concerning the accident available. TSB Investigating.
