Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ)

Summary

2005-11-28: JZA7674, DH8, enroute from Montreal (CYUL) to Charlottetown (CYYG) missed approach at Charlottetown due to gear problems. Aircraft requested and was cleared back to Halifax (CYHZ). No emergency declared. Aircraft landed at 2126Z. Nil TSB.
2005-12-07: Maintenance and Manufacturing Update: The aircraft did experience a gear problem when attempting to land in CYYG (Charlottetown). When gear down selection was made, the ?NLG Green? (filament test completed OK) light did not illuminate. Also associated with this was a ?NLG Red? indication and amber door indications. Crew advised that they selected gear up and stated that it took longer than normal for gear to retract. No indication of length of time was noted, although they did state that the PTU did run for approximately 3 minutes, but gear did retract with all indications normal. Moncton and Dispatch elected to divert the aircraft to Halifax (CYHZ) for repair. On approach to Halifax, a normal gear down selection was made with no anomalies noted. The Maintenance Ops summary notes that once on the ground in Halifax, that the ?Down lock sensor adjustment and gear swings carried out, checked serviceable?. A historical search of this aircraft has found no recent reports of any snags of this nature in recent months.
