Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Summary

2005-10-28: C-GRDP, WW24, was doing high-speed taxi work on Runway 09/27 and while holding short of Runway 15/33 for other aircraft, reported a Hot Brake and would be holding. Smoke was observed from left landing gear. ARFF was dispatched. Aircraft disabled on Runway 09/27 at 1643Z. The aircraft was towed clear of all runways at 1708Z. Nil TSB.
2005-11-08: Maintenance & Manufacturing Update: Excessive braking caused discs to warp & overtemp plug in main wheel melted, tire deflated & it was destroyed. Spare wheel assembly was installed to remove aircraft from runway. Replacement brake assembly is enroute. Wheel sent out for NDT inspection.
