Incident at J.A. DOUGLAS MCCURDY SYDNEY AIRPORT

Summary

2005-10-24: GGN7493, Beech 1900D, enroute from Sydney (CYQY) to Halifax (CYHZ) started the take off roll on Runway 25 at 1545Z. The take off was aborted before the aircraft was airborne and the pilot reported rolling through a flock of small birds. The aircraft taxied back and many birds were discovered dead on the runway near the 1,500 ft. markings. The aircraft then taxied to the gate and maintenance personnel were dispatched to check and remove any remains from the runway. Nil TSB.
