Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ) (Aerodrome - runway or taxiway surface condition)
2005-09-21: WJA746, Boeing 737-700, enroute from Hamilton (CYHM) to Halifax (CYHZ) and GGN7476, Beech 1900D enroute from Fredericton (CYFC) to Halifax (CYHZ) at approximately 1845Z were in taxiway Hotel. Both aircraft had landed on Runway 32 and exited in 'H'. WJA had landed first. WJA was requested to move forward in the taxiway to make room for the GGN. It moved forward. GGN taxied in behind WJA and was holding short of Runway 32. WJA746 was waiting for another WJA aircraft to push back and vacate a gate. Subsequently when the outbound aircraft taxied, WJA746 applied breakaway power in 'H' and taxied to the gate. Shortly thereafter GGN7476 advised the Tower that there was debris all over the taxiway; that it was going to have to be swept; and that they thought that they had been hit. The GGN crew subsequently phoned and advised that they in fact had been hit and there was significant damage. WJA dispatch in Calgary was contacted and advised of the details. They provided the civil registration of their aircraft. The Duty Manager was advised and the taxiway was closed pending sweeping. No aircraft were delayed. Alternate taxi routes were available. TSB Case Closed.
2005-09-21: TSB Update: Maintenance inspected the aircraft, determined that the damage was minor, and returned the aircraft to service.
