Incident at STEPHENVILLE NL (CYJT)

Summary

2005-08-02: SPR924, DH8A, enroute from Halifax (CYHZ) to Stephenville (CYJT) at 2010Z aircraft advised of landing gear warning indication. Aircraft landed without further incident at time 2035Z. TSB Closed.
2005-08-04: TSB Update: A05A0098: The Provincial Airlines DeHavilland Dash 8, C-GPAL, was on approach to Stephenville Airport at 0510 NDT. The crew advised Stephenville FSS of a nose gear unlocked warning indication. The manual extension system was used to lower the nose gear which extinguished the warning. No emergency was declared and the aircraft landed uneventfully at 0605 NDT while airport firefighting equipment stood by. Maintenance determined that the nose gear unlock hook could not release the gear by normal means due to a cracked trunnion.
