Summary

2005-07-25: The Skyways Inc, Pennsylvania USA, Lear 35 (N825LJ) was enroute from Sydney to Bangor. The aircraft received clearance on departure to depart Sydney runway 01 and climb runway heading to 10,000 feet for radar vectors. Sydney FSS verified that aircraft read back the runway heading instruction. On departure, N825LJ executed an immediate left turn (approximate heading 280) to set course direct to Halifax. On initial contact, the radio controller radar identified N825LJ and instructed the aircraft to turn right to heading 360. Traffic in the vicinity was a B190 on a straight in ILS clearance approximately 20 miles west of Sydney.
