Incident at ST. JOHN'S INTL NL (CYYT)

2005-05-31: RCH 483 C-130 enroute Glasgow (EGPK) to St. John's (CYYT), aircraft was pulled from approach on runway 11 in St. John's due to an electrician working on runway not given enough notice to vacate. Nil TSB
2005-06-02: Aerodrome and Air Navigation Update: The RCH a/c was given a ""pull up and go around "" by the tower controller when it appeared that the electrician would not be able to clear the runway in time to permit the a/c to land safely. On the first go-around the a/c stayed close to the airport, and never stabilized the approach, resulting in a second missed approach. On the third approach, the a/c ""floated"", and elected to miss, again on the pilot's initiative. The flight landed successfully on the fourth approach.
