Incident at ST. JOHN'S INTL NL (CYYT)

Summary

2005-05-30: SPR927 DH8 enroute St.John's (CYYT) to Deer Lake (CYDF) in the climbout experienced severe turbulence. This was not immediately reported to ATC. Aircraft continued to destination. An inspection of the aircraft revealed no damage. TSB Evaluating
2005-05-31: TSB Update:A05A0059: Speed Air 927, a Dash-8 en route St. John's to Deer lake was in the climb through 14,800 feet when the aircraft suddenly lost altitude and directional control. The aircraft descended rapidly to 10,300, where it was levelled 33 seconds later on a track 110 degrees to the left of the original. The FDR has been sent to the Engineering Branch.
