2005-05-05: TSB Update A05A0051: BAW216, a British Airways B777-236, 100 nm west of Halifax, NS, eastbound from Washington to Heathrow at FL370, reported encountering severe turbulence for 15 seconds which resulted in a loss of control. The crew reported that the speed was uncontrollable, and there was a loss of 300 feet. The aircraft continued on to destination
