Incident at GREATER MONCTON ROMEO LEBLANC INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (Communication navigation surveillance/air traffic system)

Summary

2005-04-18: CGTDI C172 returning from a round robin landing Moncton, the flight was cleared to a right downwind runway 24. The PPS symbol and tag dissapeared from radar when the aircraft was on base leg. When the aircraft did not respond to 2 landing clearances, a green light was given for landing. The aircraft overshot the runway and joined downwind. Mid downwind, a brief 7600 transponder return appeared at the same time that the pilot re-established radio communications. The flight landed at 0242z. Nil TSB
