Incident at CHARLOTTETOWN AIRPORT (Conflict - potential, Alleged Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) infraction)


2005-03-31: RSCU910 EH10 enroute VFR Summerside (CYSU) to Charlottetown (CYYG) on a SAR operation in the Gulf of St Lawrence with a VFR flight plan ETA CYYG 2250Z. CME302 PA31 enroute Sydney to Summerside (CYSU) was on an ILS Runway 03 approach at CYYG. With CME302 inside the YG NDB final Runway 03 a VFR NARDS symbol and light were simultaneously observed inside the YYG control zone to the NE. No contact on frequencies 118.0, 126.7 or 122.1. The aircraft was RSCU910 who crossed over Runway 03 and finally established contact over the CYYG airport on frequency 118.0. RSCU910 circled west and landed behind CME302. Pilot advised frequency 118.1 was selected instead of 118.0. Nil TSB
