Incident at ST. JOHN'S INTL NL (CYYT)

Summary

2005-03-29: LAL8311 B1900 departed St. John's (CYYT) for Deer Lake (CYDF) at 2100Z, advised he had a gear indication problem. Pilot cancelled IFR and returned VFR to CYYT. No assistance requested. Landed at 2114Z. TSB Evaluating
2005-04-04: Maintenance and Manufacturing Update: The landing gear was selected up after take-off, gear would not retract, a couple of attempts were made and no luck. Aircraft returned to YYT. Aircraft put on jacks, maintenance found the R/H squat switch was U/S, parts sent out of YYR and installed. Retraction tests carried out, aircraft returned to service. SDR submitted.
