Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ)

2005-03-30: Nil TSB
2005-04-05: Maintenance and Manufacturing Update #1 Flt 8902 departed YHZ (Halifax) on Mar 22/05 originally destined to YDFDeer Lake). When flight crew leveled off at FL 230, they observed the #1Engine Oil Temp Indicator to be at 20 degs C.. Flight crew then tapped the indicator and noted it failed to the -50 Deg C mark.After talking with MCON and determining there was no MEL relief available, it was decided to return the A/C to YHZ as opposed to removing the A/C from (service in YDF and running the risk of possibly loosing revenue service. YHZ Maintenance replaced the #1 eng oil temp indicator and ground check serviceable and a query of the ""Mtc Ops Summary"" and ""RCMS"" found no subsequent abnormalities.
2005-03-29: JZA8902 DH8A enroute Halifax (CYHZ) to Deer Lake (CYDF) returned to Halifax due to unspecified maintenance problem. No assistance required. JZA 8902 landed safely at 1618Z. TSB Evaluating
