Incident at GOOSE BAY NL (CYYR)


2005-03-07: Privately owned Cessna Citation S5BAZ enroute from Goose Bay to Glasgow Prestwick declared an emergency approximately 20 NM east of CYYR due to cabin door popping open. The airplane returned to CYYR. No assistance required. Landed safely at 1545Z Nil TSB.
2005-03-11: Update Maintenance & Manufacturing: The operator of the aircraft advised that the aircraft arrived with a pressurization problem (an air leak around the door). The crew cleared ice from around the door before they departed but they still experienced problems on their departure. Following their return after the declared emergency, they again cleared ice from around the door. The aircraft departed YYR the second time at 1620Z, with no report from the aircraft as to weather the problem was fixed or not.
